Rodnet

Independent software studio

We build and run software for the open web.

Rodnet is a small studio that makes online tools, puts them on the open web, and runs them itself — 6 of them so far, every one on a foundation we operate ourselves.

What Rodnet is

Rodnet is an independent studio. We design, build, and operate our own software — and keep running it — so the tools we make are dependable, not experiments that quietly disappear.

The products have little in common on the surface: company data, security scanning, checklists, email signatures, a music quiz. What they share is the shape — something you were doing badly by hand, turned into a tool that is honest about what it does and useful the first time you open it.

  • Public by default

Our tools are broadly available to anyone — free to start with, not locked away behind a sales call.

  • One job, done properly

Each product solves a real problem on its own terms, rather than being a feature bolted onto something bigger.

  • Built to last

We keep what we ship running. A tool that quietly disappears is worse than one that was never built.

Solutions

The tools we build and run. Each is its own product, live on its own domain, and free to start with.

  • Bavn

    Vulnerability scanning

An early warning for everything you have on the internet. Named after the old Danish coastal beacon-fire, lit to warn of approaching danger — Bavn scans your sites and services and tells you what needs attention, before someone else finds it.

  • bizdex

    Danish company intelligence

The most complete free way to look up a Danish company. Search by name, CVR, city or industry for a full profile — registry data, owners and management, accounts and key figures — built on open data.

  • Roster

    Checklists and procedures

Checklists that actually get finished. Write a procedure once as a reusable template, then track every time you run it — who ticked what, when, and what is still outstanding.

  • signplume

    Email signatures

One signature, every inbox. Design a branded email signature once and roll it out across the whole team's Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail, so every message that leaves looks like it came from the same company.

  • riffquiz

    Music quiz

A music quiz you build yourself. Pick a genre, a country or any theme and riffquiz assembles the round from real song clips — play on your own or against friends on a shared link.

Smaller free tools that do not need a product around them — we host them here.

  • keepawake

    Free Windows utility

Keeps your display on and stops the PC auto-locking while you are idle — without twitching the cursor while you are actually working. Nothing to install and no account: one small file you download and run.

How we work

Small studios usually rent their foundations — one service to hold the code, another to run it, another to send the mail. It is a fast way to start and an awkward way to still be standing in five years.

Rodnet runs its own. Everything above is built, deployed and operated on infrastructure we control end to end, described as code and kept under version control. That is what lets a studio this size carry 5 products at once — and it is why we can promise the unglamorous part: the tools stay up, and they stay ours.

6 tools live · 5 on their own domain · one foundation behind all of them.

  • Our own foundation

Code hosting, continuous integration, deployments, mail and analytics all run on machines we administer — not on a platform rented by the seat.

  • Defined as code

Servers, DNS and deploys live in version control. Every change to the foundation is reviewable, and the whole thing can be rebuilt from scratch.

  • Operated, not just shipped

Uptime, backups and security updates are ours. A product does not become somebody else's problem the day it launches.
